83. In 2018, China celebrated its 40thanniversary of the reform and opening-up. Great achievements have been made inregional economy since the reform and opening up in China.

The chart provides a summary ofpercentage of the British adults using smart phones from 2004 to present.Generally speaking, the number of both men and women who use smart phones arerising, approximately from 18% to 68%. The percentage of men are slightlyhigher than women, 20% to 70%, 15% to 68% respectively. However from the yearof 2014 to present, the number of men and women using smart phones is nearlyidentical, 60% and 70% for both of them. As the bar chart shows, women'spercentage surges from 15% in 2004 to nearly 70% at present. While men'spercentage is likely to be slow during the same period.
Online shopping has greatly increased inrecent years.
Today, almost everything is available online: books and music, clothes and shoes, computers and other electronic devices, all kinds of electrical appliances, commodities, even fresh vegetables and other food which can be delivered directly to your door. There are several reasons for this trend. First, it's convenient. You can shop whenever you like. Simplicity is another factor — it's very easy to research products, read customer reviews and compare prices to find the best deal. There are no crowds, just the fun of shopping. With the rapid growth of online shopping, it is of great urgency that relative laws should be formulated to ensure the security of online shopping.
According to the statistics by ASKCIC onsulting Co., in 2016, there were 299.22 million Chinese people who booked travel online, 15.2% up compared with 2015. In 2017, the growth rate was 16.1%. But in 2018, it decreased back to 15.2%, the same as that of 2016. Meanwhile, the transaction value of China's online travel booking in 2015 amounted to 448.7 billion yuan while the figure rose to 613.8 billion yuan with the annual growth rate dropping from 42.3% to 36.8%. Then it is believed that as tourists and their consumption amount are growing, online travel market will keep expanding, and online travel industry is estimated to keep an annual growth rate of around 30% in 2018, with a total amount of 1.077.2-billion-yuan transation value.
Great achievements have been made inregional economy since the reform and opening up in China. As is clearly shownin the chart, not only value-added rates in primary, secondary and tertiaryindustry but also regional GDP have varied significantly over the past 40 years in the different regions.
According to the figures given in the chart, by comparison, the value-added rate in primary industry over the past 40 years decreases sharply in all regions. And the value-added rate in secondary industry declines obviously in Eastern and Northeast areas. Moreover, the value-added rate in secondary industry falls a little from 43.3% to 41.8% in Western area. However, the value added rate in secondary industry in Middle area increases a bit from 42.4% to 45.4%. Similarly the value-added rate in tertiaryindustry rises dramatically in all regions. Furthermore, regional GDP have earth shaking changes. It has increased hundreds of times in all regions over the past 40 years.
In summary, significant achievements have been made due to the rapid development of regional economy since the reform and opening up.
