Mo Yan, China's first Nobel laureate in literature, wrote these touching sentences in his new book A LATE BLOOMER published in 2020: “I am not mature enough, not smooth enough, not seasoned enough, but it doesn’t matter, I am just a late bloomer.” “People, good in nature, are late bloomers, and are induced to be mature by rotten people, although they have become enlightened, they are still kind and sincere, and they constantly find people who are the same as themselves, but finally become the loneliest one.”

Nowadays, people, who have opportunities for quick success and are restless, are everywhere. People, early bloomers, usually could seize the opportunity to achieve the transition; while people, late bloomers, always fall behind others and catch up with others slowly. When everyone wants to be famous as early as possible, Mo Yan said that he preferred to be a late bloomer. “A late bloomer will shine when the right time comes and there’s a stage for him to show himself.”

Perhaps, as the same as Mo Yan, we are late bloomers or on the way to being late bloomers. Mo Yan, born into an ordinary rural family, is a late bloomer, and his success is due to his step-by-step and making every effort to achieve it slowly, just like the late rice. As Mo Yan said in his book A LATE BLOOMER: Late bloomers need one year to achieve the performance of those early bloomers for ten years, while they may not necessarily fail to become winners. They don’t understand the traditional code of conduct, but have a rare sincerity; they don’t understand to seek benefits and avoid harm, but possess precious kindness; they cannot explode a bombshell, but have full momentum.
